Proactive Server Maintenance

Proactive maintenance is important to optimise stability and reduces unplanned downtime, you can reduce the likelihood of incidents impacting service or performance due to incompatible hardware, software, BIOS and firmware versions.

Monitoring of important services no the server can help us identify issues before they affect the business. The key areas for monitoring are usually, but not exclusively; email services, backups, anti-virus reports etc.

Monthly maintenance tasks are performed on the servers to keep the system optimised for performance and reliability. These tasks include:freeing up disk space, running Windows updates, defragmenting hard drives, system file checking etc. Yearly onsite maintenance is performed on the server to ensure physical integrity of hardware.

An effective Disaster Recovery Plan is crucial to keep downtime to an absolute minimum and keep your business functioning if disaster strikes. Annual Disaster Recovery tests are carries out to form a major part of an organisations's Disaster Recovery Plan. The plan incorporates the Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) to ensure that your operations are fully recovered as quickly as possible without an effective disaster recovery plan in place, a company can be exposed to prolonged downtime.

Time Tokens

To support the IT infrastructure outside the server, time tokens are used. The time can be used to cover any piece of IT equipment so you will not be told that something isn't covered.
